One of the biggest hurdles in dog training is potty training. Following these simple tips will it easier to housebreak your dog.
– Remember It’s easier to house train an adult dog in comparison to a puppy. So if you have a new puppy patience is key as puppies do not respond as good to commands, but with time and effort you will see a change.
– If you decide to potty train your dog to indoors, be sure to find the appropriate potty. Do your research so you don’t just end up with a tray.
– If your dog makes a mess in their play area, be quick to clean it up. Just like me and you, dogs don’t like to go to the toilet where they eat. Doing this relieves anxiety and creates clear boundaries.
– Most importantly always shower your dog with praise when he/she uses the potty correctly. A positive response will lead to positive results.
